Basic Grits
I always forget the ratio of grits to water, so I've written this recipe to remind myself. Of course, I don't actually make basic grits as written... for a savory dinner side, add cheese and spices; for a sweet breakfast, add brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter.

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup quick grits
- 2 cups water or milk
- large pinch of salt
Method:
Bring water to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Stir in grits and simmer until thick.
